Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DataView ("the Service"), operated by DataView Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description

DataView is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool designed for developers to view, repair, and analyze structured data including JSON, XML, and YAML. The Service provides features such as interactive tree visualization, smart data repair, visual diffing, format conversion, and AI-powered analysis.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering and keep your account information up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at legal@dataview.dev if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Subscription Plans

DataView offers the following plans:

  • Free — Core features at no cost, including JSON/XML/YAML viewing, smart repair, tree visualization, and visual diff.
  • Pro ($9/month) — All Free features plus AI-powered analysis, cloud settings sync, unlimited snippets, and advanced export options.
  • Team ($29/user/month) — All Pro features plus team workspace, shared snippets, admin dashboard, SSO integration, and dedicated support.

Subscriptions are billed via Stripe on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or systems connected to the Service.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or interact with the Service without our written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Share, transfer, or provide access to your account credentials to any third party.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Our property — The Service, including its design, code, features, documentation, and branding, is owned by DataView Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written consent.
  • Your data — You retain full ownership of any data you upload, paste, or process through the Service. We do not claim any rights to your content.

7. Data Processing

By default, all data processing occurs client-side in your browser. Your data is never transmitted to our servers during standard usage (viewing, repairing, diffing, converting).

Certain optional features involve server-side processing. When you use AI Analysis, your data is sent to the Google Gemini API. When you use Cloud Storage, your documents are stored in Supabase. These features are opt-in and clearly indicated in the interface before any data leaves your browser. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DataView Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.
  • You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Cloud-stored data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
